CAIRO, Ga. (March 15, 2022) — Sailfish Boats will expand its dual console offerings this month with the addition of the new 316 Dual Console (DC). Building on the popularity of its 245 and 276 DC models, Sailfish’s 316 DC is well-equipped for a range of activities, offering a roomy and social layout, impeccable build quality, and an array of smart features that lend high versatility and value.

“Based on the positive response to our other DC models, we wanted to offer a larger option for boaters seeking the all-around versatility and stability of a dual console model. We’re thrilled to expand our lineup with this comfort-forward option,” said Sailfish Boats President & CEO Rob Parmentier.

The new 316 DC seamlessly balances fishing prowess and family fun in a 31-foot offshore performer. The open bow provides a great spot to relax, observe a sunset, catch some rays or play games. Standard features include a built-in bow cooler, multiple cup holders and USB phone-charging ports, insulated under-seat storage, and an attractive anchor with a protective stainless steel bow plate and standard windlass — all working together to make the 316 ideal for a day of cruising, anchoring off someplace and enjoying time with family and friends.

Mid-ship, the 316 DC features an integrated hardtop with a frameless, full-height windshield that delivers 25 percent more visibility than a typical dual console’s windshield. A new sliding center panel eliminates the need to flip over a heavy pane of glass; instead, the door glides to the passenger side and locks into place, allowing easy walk-through access to the bow while maintaining optimal visibility.

At the helm, a deluxe power-assisted chair with bolster and swivel base ensures ergonomic comfort for captains of all sizes. The dash can accommodate up to two 12” Garmin electronics screens, and all controls are within easily accessible reach. At the opposing console, the comfortable companion seat includes additional storage. The console doubles as the door to a wet head with the most headroom in its class, complete with a standard electric marine head, faucet sink, mirror, storage, and an overhead skylight with frosted privacy glass.

As a fishing battlewagon, the 316 doesn’t disappoint. The boat features a spacious open cockpit with a nearly 10-foot beam that lets anglers fish side to side without compromise. Standard fishing features include a 30-gallon circulating baitwell with LED lighting, two in- floor fish boxes with vacuum pump, 14 rod holders, and a portside dive door.

When the fishing action is done, the cockpit is instantly ready for fun. Three recessed bench seats and rear-facing seats behind the captain and companion seats easily accommodate 8 people. The optional galley/wet bar package includes a refrigerator, wine rack cooler, countertop and sink arrangement that makes the 316 the optimal platform for fishing and hosting. The boat is also available with an optional entertainment package that includes a ski tow bar, removable bow table, transom remote control and underwater LED lights, making it a perfect party platform, as well.

Another crowd-pleasing detail: The 316 DC features a sandbar cooler built into the portside swim platform. This means anyone swimming or floating around during a raft-up can help themselves to a cold beverage without having to climb back into the boat. Conveniently, the transom is also equipped with a standard freshwater fill and shower, raw-water washdown, and recessed boarding ladder.

Like all Sailfish models, the 316 DC features the company’s exclusive Variable Degree Stepped (VDS) hull design. This three-hulls-in-one platform provides the perfect balance of stability and performance whether at rest or slicing through chop. The deepest of the three “steps” has a steep 24-degree entry-point angle designed to peel open the water aggressively, providing for a uniquely effortless ride experience. The second surface is positioned at a slightly shallower angle of 23 degrees, enabling air to flow efficiently under the hull. This aeration ensures less friction and brings a welcome higher rate of fuel economy.

Finally, the third and outermost stepped surface is positioned at a flatter 22degrees, enhancing stability at rest. In practical terms, this means riders will feel less rocking in big rollers, and likely won’t get those dreaded sea legs after battling prize game.

Enhancing the impressive ride characteristics of VDS is Sailfish’s Sailtech construction process. Sailtech unites science, materials and human touch to build lasting structural integrity into every hull. The process incorporates materials including Kevlar®, quad axial fiberglass mat, spray core and Trevira to ensure the reliability, strength and durability boaters need when fishing offshore or caught in rough conditions.

In terms of performance, the 316 has plenty of get-up-and-go. Standard twin 300-HP Yamaha or Mercury engines deliver excellent reliability and fuel economy. Factor in the smooth-riding VDS hull and every owner can feel confident knowing they’ll get to their destination (and back!) with ease and comfort.
